Bulk – Our Bulk Department is filled with a wide variety of spices, freshly-ground nut butters, locally milled organic flours, beans, grains, snacks, and baking supplies, as well as fair trade, organic, local coffees and teas.

When buying in bulk, you’re welcome to use our provided bags or containers, or you can bring your own. If you’re using your own container, be sure to weigh your empty container at the registers prior to filling up so your cashier can deduct the weight when ringing up.

Foods sold in bulk are typically less expensive than their packaged counterparts. Bulk allows you to buy as much, or as little, as you need. By using and reusing your containers, you also reduce the amount of trash going into our environment.

Refrigerated and Frozen – We carry a large assortment of organic and local yogurts, milks, eggs, and other dairy products. You can find frozen meals, packaged veggies, desserts, meat products, gourmet foods, ready to eat meals, and gluten free options. We carry many dairy, meat, and frozen dessert alternatives for various dietary preferences.

Household Goods – We carry items for your sustainable household including locally made and environmentally friendly household cleaners, recycled and compostable paper products, kitchen necessities, laundry supplies, and baby care, plus light bulbs, matches, batteries, and more!

Pet Products – We want our pets to be healthy too! At the Co-op we carry nutritious, high quality pet food, with an assortment of vegetarian options and specialty treats to suit even the most finicky furry friend.

Produce & Meat

The Durham Co-op Market Produce Department exists to serve the Durham and surrounding communities by providing the freshest, most exciting selection of local, natural, and organic produce 7 days a week, all year long.  We will also provide outstanding customer service to all store patrons and be excellent teammates with all store employees. We support local, sustainable, and organic agriculture.

Durham Co-op Market offers a well-curated selection of fresh meat and seafood. Our beef and pork, provided by Durham based First Hand foods, is pasture raised in North Carolina. Our meat is free of added hormones, has never been treated with antibiotics, and is cage-free. Our seafood is from
sustainably managed fisheries and fish farms.

Wine & Beer

The Durham Co-op Market carries wine and beer from thoughtful producers who place value and quality above quantity and prestige. You can find a wide range of beer and wine, from quality and affordable selections to specialty items for any occasion.

A good bottle of wine should be a product of responsible agriculture and artisanal skill. It should also be a good value and a wholesome pleasure to drink. We model our wine selection after these ideals, and every bottle is hand-picked (and tasted) before it hits the shelves, so shop with confidence!

Our beers are a collection of talented North Carolina craft brewers as well as other well-loved beer artisans from around the nation and globe. This department changes with the seasons, so there is always something new and delicious to discover.

We host various, weekly tasting events, like Brewsday (every Tuesday from 5-7pm) and Winesday (every Wednesday form 5-7pm). Learn more HERE.

Café

For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we are your one stop shop for delicious housemade and local food! Whether you want a quick meal on the go, hot soup, salad, or a meal for the family, we’ve got it all. We source our ingredients and premade selections with your favorite local producers.

Deli – Our Deli features made-to-order sandwiches and bagels. Choose an option from our menu and modify to your liking. View our full menu HERE.

We also serve hot and ready meal options, fresh meats, cheeses, and many more prepared foods. We are stocked with a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, and more! You can find pre-packed sandwiches, hummus, spreads, deli sides, salads, and other locally prepared foods in our Grab n’ Go section.

Salad & Hot Bar – Our self-serve hot bar and salad bar are available daily with a rotating menu of fresh greens, vegetables, fruit, and other toppings, plus house-made hot entrees and sides.

Coffee Bar – We offer a tasty variety of espresso drinks and hot refreshments, including hot chocolate, chai, and other favorites, plus refreshing, blended smoothies and Agua Frescas! Our Counter Culture Coffee trained baristas craft all our espresso drinks with locally-roasted beans. Enjoy our freshly brewed drip coffee and hot tea on the self-service coffee bar. Sip your beverage in our café or take it to go with our compostable cups, lids, sleeves and other compost friendly supplies. A variety of dairy and non-dairy milk options are available, in addition to syrups so you can customize your drinks.

Catering – We offer expert catering services from our Deli. With a wide selection of options, we can accommodate your needs for lunches, dinners, and special events. Contact the Deli to place an order of delicious, house-prepared snacks and meals by contacting our Deli at catering@durham.coop.

Vegan Options – The Co-op offers an array of delicious, healthy, and affordable options for any dietary restriction or preference. Whether it is a light snack, tasty meal, prepared side dish, or basic groceries, we carry and serve an abundant supply of vegan products and menu options. We believe vegan cooking is not just about excluding certain ingredients for your health or lifestyle, but about exploring new options with fabulous food.
